Tito Morrelli

My return to the stage after the COVID-19 pandemic was in a new area, the St. Louis metro. In this show, I played Tito Morelli, an Italian tenor with more than a few issues. Tito arrives at his hotel suite in Cleveland, Ohio, to perform at the Opera Guild Collation’s Gala as Pagliacci. After fighting with his wife, he takes some pills, his minder gives him more pills to keep him under control, and they both drink wine. Believed dead from these efforts, his minder, Max, dons Tito’s spare costume and performs as him. Meanwhile, Tito, having woken up, tries to perform in his costume as well. As with any great farce, plenty of door-slamming and mistaken identities ensue. I received an Arts for Life – Theatre Mask nomination for this performance.
